Be all you can be Watertown

Is there more that can be done to shape our communities to be all they can be? That’s the central question explored by a UW Extension publication titled “Principles and Practice of Community Placemaking.” See full report here.

This terrific handbook contains a wealth of information that Watertown leaders and engaged residents should look into. It provides a basic understanding of key principles of community design and placemaking for local officials, planners, community development professionals and active citizens involved with community improvement and vitality initiatives.

It also provides tested examples of how to put these principles into practice. It explains how to use specific methods, techniques and approaches in a variety of venues and locations. It gives us information we need to move our community towards becoming the special place we want it to be.

See also here for a presentation about these principles of placemaking.
