I wish to express my gratitude to the following collaborative sponsors who joined forces to plan and deliver to the Watertown community an exceptional Mayoral Candidate Forum on January 29, 2019. Those sponsors included; Get Healthy Watertown, Towne Cinema, Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce, YES Watertown, Watertown TV and The American Association of University Women (AAUW).
I also wish to express my gratitude to the following mayoral candidates for their willingness to participate in the forum. Those candidates included: Emily McFarland, Fred Smith, Kurt Larson, and Jim Romlein. All who attended the forum in person, watched the forum on the live Watertown TV Facebook stream and/or will be watching the video on Watertown TV are fortunate to have the opportunity to hear your views, perspectives, and answers to the compelling questions asked.
For those of you who did not have the opportunity to attend the forum, or watch the live Watertown TV Facebook stream, please take the time to watch the video, become the most informed that you can, and be sure to vote in the primary election on Tuesday, February 19, 2019.
After processing the views, perspectives, and answers to the compelling questions, I would like to declare my endorsement of Emily McFarland for the City of Watertown Mayor.
Through the delivery of her answers, it is clear to me that Emily is prepared and most qualified to fulfill the duties of Mayor for the City of Watertown. She demonstrated her ability to really listen to the questions being asked and to actually answer the questions as opposed to utilizing the answer time to share broad and unrelated positions and stories.
Emily’s promise of delivering transformational, collaborative, and servant leadership is crucial to the success of all things “Watertown” going forward.
From being a parent watching Emily coach my daughters in High School sports, to watching Emily navigate civic roles and responsibilities in city government and elsewhere, I am continuously impressed by her ability to always remain calm, ask relevant questions to get to the most proactive solutions, identify the strengths in individuals and utilize those strengths collectively to achieve the best possible results.
Emily McFarland is the City of Watertown Mayoral Candidate that I will be voting for, and I encourage you to do the same!
